Alternative Elfstedentocht on the Weissensee

Every year in the second half of January, the Weissensee is completely taken over by the Alternative Elfstedentocht. For over a week, thousands of Dutch skaters flock to Austria to participate in recreational skates and races on natural ice, with distances ranging from 50 to 200 kilometers. In addition to recreational tours, the program also features professional marathons.
