Vacation Resort Near the Weissensee

Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Gailtal Alps lies the Weissensee, one of Austria’s most beautiful mountain lakes. The lake sits at an elevation of 930 meters and is no less than 12 kilometers long. Weissensee is also known as one of the cleanest lakes in Europe, which is immediately apparent from its clear, emerald-green water. The surrounding nature park is the ideal spot for a lovely hike or a long bike ride. From our vacation park, it’s just a half-hour drive to this lake. That makes our park the perfect starting point for exploring all the beauty Carinthia has to offer. Did you know there’s also a beautiful lake right next to our vacation park? So you can even take a refreshing dip right near your vacation home!

Weissensee is the highest swimming lake in the Alps, and there’s always something to do here. For example, if you take a walk around the lake, you can hop on a boat to return or to explore another part of the shore. For those who prefer more action, a diving trip in the clear water is highly recommended to explore the underwater world. The region is also a paradise for cyclists and mountain bikers. There’s a network of over 400 kilometers of bike paths that take you past 20 different lakes. Nearby towns like Nassfeld and Villach are also must-see destinations during your vacation near the Weissensee.

    Discover this scenic route full of narrow paths along the riverbanks and over rocky cliffs. After the hike, you can relax on the return trip aboard the ferry.

Is the park also suitable for families with young children?

Absolutely! During peak season, there's an enthusiastic entertainment team, and kids can have a blast at the playground or on the Air Trampoline all year round.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

At EuroParcs Pressegger See, we have different times to ensure a smooth arrival and departure: for our campers, the campsite is available starting at 1:00 p.m. and must be vacated by 12:00 p.m. at the latest on the day of departure. Are you staying in one of our vacation homes or chalets? In that case, you can check in starting at 4:00 p.m., and we ask that you return the key by 10:00 a.m. on the day of departure.

Which ski resorts are located near the vacation park?

In addition to the small-scale slopes right next to the Weissensee, the large Nassfeld ski resort is just a short drive away. This is one of Austria’s most modern and sunniest ski resorts, with over 110 kilometers of slopes suitable for both beginners and advanced skiers.
